CARES Act Paycheck Protection Program
On Friday, March 27, 2020, the President of the United States signed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act into law.
This is groundbreaking legislation that demonstrates the federal government’s bipartisan desire to help consumers and small businesses through this crisis.
One provision of the Act is the Paycheck Protection Program, which allows small businesses to borrow funds so that they may keep their employees paid during the crisis. A portion of the funds borrowed under this temporary loan program may be forgiven, if used for qualifying expenses.
