During the Oregon Bank Leadership Symposium held in December, the Oregon Bankers Association (OBA) announced that Amber J. White, CPA, executive vice president and chief financial officer at Oregon Pacific Bank was the recipient of the OBA Presidential Award for her leadership as chair of OBA’s Finance and Accounting Committee.
The OBA Presidential Award is given annually to one of OBA’s peer group chairs for their outstanding leadership and commitment. Peer groups are chaired by volunteer bankers who provide leadership, serve as a resource to the OBA and committee members, and are at times called upon to meet with policymakers. OBA’s 14 peer groups provide approximately 400 OBA members a valuable forum for networking, education and roundtable discussion.
In commenting about the award, OBA President and CEO Linda Navarro said, “Amber has been an actively engaged peer group member and chair for many years now. She has helped us refine the role and structure of our Finance and Accounting Committee. She has excellent skills in facilitating discussion and making sure meetings are a comfortable place to learn and share. Whether it is by bringing in guest experts to offer their viewpoints or learning from one another, Amber ensured that every meeting provided value and helped members gain a deeper understanding of critical issues.”
