Assistant Branch Manager
As an Assistant Manager at our Roseburg Branch, Tami Fox helps out with just about anything that needs doing. That could include work behind the scenes to ensure things are running smoothly or greeting customers in the lobby and helping them conduct transitions.
Whether in person or over the phone, Oregon Pacific Bank makes availability a priority, Tami says. “We get to know people,” she says. “We have regulars who come in or call. They like calling us because we actually answer the phone.”
Tami joined OPB in 2016, after spending 21 years at a credit union. It’s been a nice change because we focus on customers and listen to what they need without trying to push offers for products that may not be right for them, she says.
“We want to help our clients and make sure they’re covered without overwhelming them,” she says.
Outside of the bank, Tami serves the community through her involvement in the Roseburg Lions Club, which she first joined in 2007. The Lions Club puts on a variety of fundraisers to acquire eyeglasses and hearing aids for local residents.
The Lions Club also conducts eye screenings for children at all of the local elementary schools, which provides children a chance at a better education when vision problems are caught early. It’s a mission that holds a special place in Tami’s heart because at a time of need in her life, the Lions Club was there to help her.
“I grew up in foster care,” she says. “When I needed glasses, I went to the eye doctor at Myrtle Creek. He set me up with the Lions Club and they paid for my glasses. That’s something I never forgot.”
Tami has lived in Douglas County most of her life. Life is simpler and the atmosphere is less chaotic than bigger cities like Eugene or Portland, she says, and she feels like she knows a lot of people here. “I like the small town feel of Roseburg,” she says.
On the weekends, Tami loves to get out on the lake with her family for some waterskiing and wake surfing, just about every weekend during the summer. She started waterskiing as a teenager. She also enjoys biking and skateboarding and quick getaways to the coast or the mountains.
In all, whether at home or at the office, Tami is glad to be with the people she feels closest to.
“I have my family, and I also have my bank family,” she says. “Everyone I work with here is like family.”
