Umpqua Dairy Products: Doug and Steve Feldkamp

As third-generation owners of Roseburg-based Umpqua Dairy Products, Doug and Steve Feldkamp take pride in continuing their family’s 90-year legacy.

Creating dairy products that are natural and made from milk that comes from Oregon family farms, shows that they are passionate about delivering superior products that help our local economy. Because of this, Doug and Steve expect the same level of high-quality products and services from their bank.

Doug and Steve were initially drawn to Oregon Pacific Bank’s local presence in the Roseburg community, which mirrored their values as an Oregon-based company committed to providing exceptional service.

“As a true community bank, they get to know their customers both on a business and personal level,” Doug says. “You have direct access to your team and can get immediate help when needed.”

Doug understands our bank especially well. After serving on our board of directors for six years, he got to know our founders and many of our employees personally. Knowing that they can count on us to support their business, Doug and Steve currently use OPB for their checking, ACH, wire transfers, line of credit, sweep account and certificates of deposits.

“I like the personal contact and responsiveness to business questions and transactions,” Steve says. “They are always eager to help and can get answers to questions on timely issues.”

Founded in 1931 by Ormond Feldkamp and Herb Sullivan, with only a delivery truck and wooden ice house, Umpqua Dairy Products has flourished into a major producer of dairy products in Oregon. As makers of ice cream, milk, sour cream and cottage cheese, as well as serving as wholesale distributors of frozen foods and other refrigerated items, Doug and Steve have doubled the number of employees at Umpqua and expanded production and distribution throughout the state.

Umpqua’s commitment to community and creation of products made local with high-quality, local ingredients are a few of the many reasons why we are proud to serve them. Our shared values make us a great team.

“Oregon Pacific Bank is a great supporter of their communities that they do business in,” Doug says. “They follow through and are attentive to your needs—they value the relationship.”
