Kindra Skrydlak

AVP, Relationship Banking Officer
Portland Branch

Kindra Skrydlak says the highlight of her banking career has been the relationships she’s formed with co-workers and those she’s built with businesspeople who she’s helped to reach their goals.

“I really love connecting with people,” she says. “Throughout my career, my favorite aspect of banking has been the opportunity to meet people from all different backgrounds.”

Kindra is an Assistant Vice President and Relationship Banking Officer at Oregon Pacific Bank in Portland.

“I joined OPB because I felt confident that the team here locally and across our various locations really cares about our clients,” she says. “We prioritize clients, value employees and work proactively to improve our communities. I believe strongly that a bank is more than just that — we are empowered to advocate for our clients and help them reach their goals.”

Kindra began her banking career as a teller while attending college, which allowed her to explore her interest in finance.

Volunteerism is important to Kindra. She has served on several nonprofit boards, including the Bradley Angle Board of Directors as board chair, an organization that aims to serve those affected by domestic violence. She currently serves as vice president of her daughter’s co-op preschool board and is excited to get even more involved in the community, now that her children are older.

Kindra has also been involved with Rotary, initially joining right out of college at the urging of her sister. “Through that, we created our own Rotaract club — for young professionals — and I attended their youth leadership conference, where I returned three times as a group facilitator,” she says. “I gained many friends and mentors through those experiences.”

She and her family now live in Hillsboro. “We love the diversity of cultures here,” she says. “Our city is always putting on different events to celebrate different cultures and that’s been so great for our family.”

The Portland area has always been her home. “I’m one of the rare true Oregonians,” she says. “I was born in Portland and raised in Beaverton. My husband and I were born at the same hospital, and he grew up just blocks from me!”

She and her family enjoy trips to the Oregon Zoo, the beach and evenings out on the town. “My husband and I also love exploring new restaurants on date nights,” she says. “This area has so much to offer for foodies!”

Kindra also owns and operates her own events company, Luxe Events and Balloons. “I create balloon designs for parties and events,” she says. “It’s a really fun way to engage with my community and celebrate all sorts of milestones with families.”

She’s also recently taken up the caretaking of houseplants. “I’ve managed to keep some alive, and have now leveled up to helping them thrive so that’s been fun,” she says. “I love to read, and I’m in a book club that meets monthly that I really enjoy. We take turns choosing books, so it’s a great way to learn about new and different authors.”
