Stephanie Cannon

SVP, Relationship Banking Officer
Portland Branch

Oregon Pacific Bank’s reputation is what convinced Stephanie Cannon to join our new office in Portland, the city she’s grown to know and love.

“I’m excited to work for another community-based bank,” she says. “I have so much respect for the leadership and the way they do business banking. That’s what drew me here.”

Stephanie has worked in Portland’s banking sector since 2005. She’s lived here since 1989, having grown up in Denver, Colorado.

She calls herself a “math and science nerd” who majored for a time in mechanical engineering in college. “I like to put things together, take them apart,” she says.

Along with her interest in engineering, Stephanie has always had an affinity for the construction industry, and the businesses that build our communities. Her role as a relationship banker allows her to assist contractors and business owners with their financial needs so they can focus on what they do best. In that way, she says, she’s helping them be successful.

“It’s a lot of fun being a resource and having an impact,” she says.

Since 2007, she’s been a board member of Pacific Northwest Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors and has enjoyed getting to know people in the industry and giving back to the industry.

She also sits on the board of the Northwest College of Construction, which administers training and apprentice programs to individuals looking to learn the various trade professions in construction. “College or nothing are not the only options for our young people today,” she says. “We need people to build our cities.”

Stephanie admires people who have the courage to start their own business and, as a banker, she appreciates playing a role in helping them achieve their dreams.

“Working in this profession, I get to be a strategic partner,” she says.

Stephanie also enjoys helping nonprofits with their financial needs. “I love to give back to the community, whether through volunteerism, being a resource for ideas, or helping nonprofit clients,” she says.

In her off-time, Stephanie is a huge sports fan and loves taking in a game whenever she can. She also likes to stay active outdoors and spend time with her family. She’s travelled across the country to attend her daughter’s competitive dance events, and she enjoys watching her son compete on the baseball field as a pitcher.

Stephanie is thrilled about joining OPB in Portland and looks forward to helping clients find answers to their problems.

“A lot of people think of banking as just a transaction. It’s more than that,” she says. “I like to be a part of finding solutions, creating efficiencies and helping clients find new ways to do things.”
